They say the best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago – the next best time is today. The same could be said about blogging. Though the Internet landscape has changed quite a bit in 2 decades. It may be easier than ever to create a blog. So why start a new blog in 2026? I’m getting a head start on my New Year’s resolution – considering it’s Oct 2025. This isn’t my first blog, not even close. I’ve probably spun nearly 10 of them, then tried something new. WordPress, Blogger, heck, even Facebook rolled out blogging with a “Notes” feature in 2006 – though they were like, nearly impossible to find, and soon sunset. Looking back on the many years I’ve spent on the Internet I think the thing I regret most was burning down my blogs to try new things, and never really putting all my creative work in one place. So this is now Alissa Central.
What Is This Site About? Creative Projects and Art Prints
What will I be posting about? Well, my current interests include crafting cocktails and taking pictures of them for my booze journal. I also hand carve and hand print linocut art pieces. I’ve also recently got a membership at a local makerspace to create my own swag – warm up the laser! I’ve been an artistic film photographer over 20 years, even with the same trusty film camera I first learned on. My subject matter tends to lean towards macro flowers, gritty cityscapes, and capturing performance artists. I’ll be sharing some of my creative film processes, favorite vintage cameras, and adventures. Yes I shoot digital too #TeamCanon, but most often just pictures of my drinks. Also I recently returned to the art scene selling prints! I was fortunate enough to have my first art show in over a decade last summer at a gallery in Fresno. Free Stock Photography Contributor
I also started contributing to free stock photography libraries as a way to give back. After using free stock photos in my professional marketing work for over a decade, I wanted to contribute as well. You can find my photos on www.unsplash.com/@prizmatika.

The stock photos I share would otherwise never see the light of day off of my harddrive, so I’m putting them out there to help others.
